Kenya Film Classification Board CEO Ezekiel has picked a 'fight' with renowned journalist Larry Madowo. This comes after the former NTV news presenter attacked the moral police after the banning of Wanuri Kahiu 's film Rafiki by KFCB.
Larry took on twitter to discredit KFCB after Rafiki team got a standing ovation.
"She got a standing ovation at #Cannes2018 Who's laughing now?". He went ahead and wrote an article in The Washington Post titled "Kenya’s homophobia is not the only dangerous thing about the ban on ‘Rafiki’.
Larry Madowo blasted the KFCB and Ezekiel Mutua for not seeing the bad in holding on to discriminatory practices.
He added that moral body was meant to classify domestic and foreign movies instead of becoming the official moral censorship vehicle.
This didn't go well with KFCB boss who also hurled personal attacks to the journalist. Mutua said that Larry is not perfect and has no authority to talk to anyone about life and Godliness, asking him to get a wife and settle down.
“@LarryMadowo is a successful journalist but he is no paragon of virtue. He has no moral authority to lecture anyone about life, family or Godliness. Get a wife Chief and settle down! There is more to life than money and the glory of a byline. Values that are rooted in godliness, family, and cultural heritage are the basis of great nations and great people. The rest is hype and hoopla #IfikieLarryMadowo ,” the tweet read.
The drama has elicited mixed reactions from Kenyans.
