While speaking to the media at his Machakos office yesterday, Mutua said that poverty is the major issue facing the people.

The governor said the county has invested heavily in projects aimed at fighting poverty but called for support among county leaders.

“We need to work together, have a common vision that will see us eradicate poverty in Machakos,” he said.

Mutua noted that unity among leaders is critical and will go a long way to promote development.

The county boss said that he remains committed to providing services to the people and called for support from other leaders.

He added that though it is the work of the government to implement projects, other leaders must provide support in term of proper legislation and passing of policies.

Mutua assured residents that he will fulfill all the promises he made to them before the forthcoming 2017 general elections.

He further said that he will work on all projects to ensure they are complete before the end of the next financial year.

Mutua asked residents to support and cooperate with the government as it focuses on fighting poverty, unemployment and bringing services closer to the people.
