Machakos County Governor, Dr Alfred Mutua has called on Makueni County leaders to unite and serve the people as they elected them to do.This comes as a commision of inquiry is in Makueni county to look into a petition by the people of Makueni to President Uhuru Kenyatta asking for dissolution of the County government.
Dr Alfred Mutua was speaking when he paid a visit to Makueni County Governor Kivutha Kibwana. Mutua also added that Makueni people want a government that will serve them and initiate developments in the county asking the commission to fulfill the will of Makueni people.
“We all want Makueni people to have a government that can work in unity and a government that can show Makueni people the light”, Governor Mutua said. Dr Mutua also said that the initiatives he has in place in Machakos county to fight poverty with the residents through bringing real developments to the people is also the way he would wish Makueni governor to do in Makueni county.
Kivutha called on Ukambani Governors to maintain the same unity noting that they also visited Kitui Governor Dr Julias Malombe when Kitui had crisis. “We need to embrace development politics, not personalized politics, because this region is very much behind”, Kivutha said.
Dr Mutua and Kivutha have also promised to bring together all Ukambani region leaders to embrace development in the region.
