Many years of anguish for the people of Ndithini Ward, Masinga sub-county in search of clean and accessible water may have come to a happy end with the commissioning of the Mananja Secondary School and Kiateneni boreholes project executed by the government of Machakos county.

Speaking in Masinga sub-county on Tuesday during the tour, governor Alfred Mutua expressed happiness that clean water was eventually struck at and described the boreholes as important projects carried out to assuage the thirst for clean portable water in the community. 

"As part of my comprehensive water program which aims to ensure all households in Machakos county have clean tap water, I commissioned Mananja Secondary School and Kiateneni boreholes which are operational and supplying clean water to residents," the governor said. 

"Maendeleo Chap Chap is about providing speedy and quality development to the citizenry by initiating programs that directly impact on them,'' he added. 

The governor also inspected ongoing development projects among them upgrading of Kitini-Kayole-Kiatineni-Ndithini-Kawethei Road to motorable standards and construction of Ndithini health facility.
