Machakos County First Lady, Lillian Mutua, has donated beddings and foodstuffs to the orphaned and semi orphaned children in the county.
Children at AIC Kangundo could not hide their joy when receiving the dontions.
“The home has inadequate resources and their living standard is wanting. I am therefore urging other well wishers to help this children since they are our future leaders,” said Mutua.
Mutua also visited Forward Green Childrens Home in Matungulu Sub County and offered the same resources.
She also donated water tanks which will be used to harvest water during rainy season.
The area is always faced with inadequate rain, hence starvation and poverty.
She revealed that the county government through its ministry of Education, Youth and Social Welfare is working closely with the childrens home in the county to ensure that they get quality education.
She encouraged the children to work hard in their studies since they stand an equal chance to succeed in life.
“Work hard for a better tomorrow. We all have equal chances in life but the way we utilise our time makes a difference,” advised Mutua.
She urged parents in the county to support their children.
