Mutua said other leaders are welcome to manage their areas of jurisdiction from Machakos  County.

“Where we are, we want to be able to work together in a stable country. It is good to see my county is being used by more than just myself to run a government,” Mutua said.

He spoke at a legislative meeting at a Mombasa hotel on Thursday.

Mutua said he will be happy if the Nairobi and Machakos MCAs work together to develop their wards.

“I also want to welcome the Members of Nairobi and Machakos County Assemblies to come there and we hold some of our sessions together,” Mutua added.

The governor made the statements even as Miguna Miguna's appointment by Sonko as his deputy still hangs in the balance.

Miguna has been blocked from returning to the country, a move many analysts believe is meant to frustrate the Nairobi governor.

Sonko has, however, maintained that he will not change his mind.

Recently, he claimed his life is in danger after the government withdrew some of his bodyguards.
