The Kenya medical practitioners, pharmacists and dentists' union (KMPDU) has threatened to withdraw doctors from Machakos county in the next 7 days and declare Machakos County a hostile employer if Governor Mutua does not apologise to all doctors and withdraw remarks made against suspended health workers in the county.
In a letter written by KMPDU secretary general Dr Ouma Oluga, the union has accused Mutua of contempt and disrespect to the Health workers in Machakos.
The union has taken issue with branding the health workers as "lazy" yet they are hard-working and do their best in the prevailing hardship conditions and firing the doctors without adhering to disciplinary measures.
The doctor's union further questioned the disappearance of Dr Iddi Waititu when the governor visited Kangundo hospital pharmacy.
They accused the governor of inability to fulfill employment obligations such as salaries and promotions.
This comes days after Mutua visited Kathiani hospital where he sent some of the health workers packing for allegedly lazying in their work.
