Machakos governor Dr Alfred Mutua met leaders of Machakos town market in his office, Tuesday.
They discussed the development of the market and measures they both can take to improve services for them and 'wananchi'.
"I was pleased to learn that since my government started its work in Machakos County, trading in Machakos has grown and the town has robust economic activity. I found them to be very insightful and full of energy,'' Mutua said after the meeting.
He promised to undertake construction of a new toilet block for traders and customers, add CCTV cameras and lights, and ensure constant garbage collection, among other measures, to revamp the market.
"We agreed that wananchi want us to continue providing speedy development that can be seen in the spirit of Maendeleo Chap Chap,'' said the governor.
