The governor of Machakos county has revealed he holds teachers in high regards due to the dedication and passion required in the profession.

Speaking during a consultative meeting on Thursday with Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT), Kenya Union of Post Primary (KUPPET) and Kenya Primary School Teachers Association (KEPSHA) officials, Mutua stated his quest for good education was impeachable. 

"As a teacher in the United States of America, Australia, Dubai and Kenya I know teaching is a sacrifice and I am focused to ensure every child in my County receives the best education," said Mutua.

The Machakos boss further stated his government was ready to collaborate with the education stakeholders so as to improve education in the county. 

"My government is willing to implement tangible solutions to our education system in consultation with the sector stakeholders," he added.

Mutua has been hosting a series of different groups and stakeholders from lower Eastern including Ukambani Professionals, the Mau Mau Veterans, the Church Fraternity as well as the Youth from the county.
