Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua has said he has names of all persons involved in the maize scandal.
Speaking during an interview on Citizen TV’s JKL Show on Sunday, Mutua said he was given the list of the senior government officials involved in the scandal by "knowledgeable persons.”
The county boss, however, did not disclose the names of the suspects in the scandal that has rocked the country.
“I have a list, given to me by knowledgeable people, on who was involved in the maize scandal. There are people there, senior gov’t officials on that list,” Mutua said.
The Maendeleo Chap Chap party leader also reminded President Uhuru Kenyatta that not all the leaders who surround him are bad.
He noted that there are senior government officials who are committed to better service delivery.
“The President needs to know that he has people who do not steal who are ready to work with him," Mutua added.
Mutua has been advocating for lifestyle audit of all senior government officials as the fight against corruption continues.
The President has since agreed to undergo lifestyle audit alongside other government officials including his deputy William Ruto in a bid to stop loss of public funds.
