Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua has urged the Kamba community to embrace Maendeleo Chap Chap Movement.
Speaking during the launching of the movement, Mutua said that it is the only political outfit that boasts of “purely Kamba roots.”
While addressing the public in a rally held at Machakos Bus Park, Mutua claimed the Kalonzo’s Wiper party has “bloody links with other communities”.
“If you remember very well, it is Raila Odinga who started ODM-Kenya before he parted ways with Kalonzo to form ODM.
Kalonzo remained with ODM Kenya, which he was later to turn it to the now Wiper party. This tells you that Wiper is not homegrown,” he said.
He called upon leaders who dared dream and the entire Kamba community to join the winning team, which is Maendeleo Chap Chap Movement.
“This is the only movement that was started at home, and will be purely owned by the community. Therefore, embrace it as one of your own,” added Mutua.
The government opened the movement’s office in Machakos town. The party has plans to open 27 offices within the Ukambani region.
He also requested local residents to visit the movement’s offices and register to become members in a move to popularize it.
“We have offices in Nairobi, Mombasa, Taita Taveta and we will open offices in other counties to market our movement,” said the outspoken governor.
