Machakos gubernatorial hopeful Wavinya Ndeti has asked Dr Alfred Mutua to clear his name with the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) before seeking re-election.
According to Wavinya, the incumbent is not fit to hold a public office considering the numerous corruption cases he has been mentioned in during his first term as the Machakos County boss. The former CCU patron was speaking at Mung’ala AIC.
“We have in the last four years seen him in courts trying to fight corruption cases raised against his administration,” Wavinya said.
The two have been involved in a verbal feud for some time. Ndeti decamped from Wiper Democratic Movement to CCU after losing to Alfred Mutua who became the first Machakos governor. She has returned to Wiper to face Mutua who deserted Wiper and formed Maendeleo Chap Chap.
Wavinya has declared herself the people’s choice in Wiper to unseat Mutua. However, Mutua deputy, Bernard Kiala has disowned the self-endorsement and promised her (Wavinya) a tough nomination battle.
