Maendeleo Chap Chap party won't be part and parcel of the Kamba declaration meeting scheduled for Monday in Matungulu sub-county, Machakos governor Alfred Mutua has revealed.
Through a post on his official Facebook page, Mutua termed the meeting as fake and meant for the entrenchment of supremacy battles.
He said that his party is not interested in meetings meant to elevate a few to negotiate for positions and money using the communities name.
"We have been hearing of a meeting ostensibly convened for Akamba unity to be held near at Komarock tomorrow, Monday, April 2nd, 2018. As a party, we wish to state our position regarding the said meeting," read part of the post by Governor Mutua.
He said the meeting is an affair of the Wiper party factions.
The governor observed that during the plan of the meeting other parties were not involved and the program being circulated on social media bears Wiper colors.
"How do you expect us to come to a meeting which we were not given an opportunity to contribute to the planning?" he said.
Mutua observed that genuine community meeting should be conveyed by genuine brokers with all parties involved saying that his party has not received any invitations for the meeting.
He said the Maendeleo Chap Chap party proposes unity discussions which are not led by politicians and which take a multi-partisan approach.
"Maendeleo Chap Chap recommends a body made up of respected religious leaders and elders to spearhead and run the process of such a meeting. The meeting should be preceded by consultations by the conveners with all senior Ukambani leaders (elected, former elected, community leaders etc) to agree on location and agenda items," Mutua noted in his post.
"We urge the WIPER faction which is meeting, to go ahead and hold its Wiper Party meeting and to stop calling it a Kamba unity meeting. As far as we are concerned, it is a Wiper party affair meant to hoodwink and exploit the Kamba Nation," he added.
