A section of leaders from the Ukambani region have ridiculed a Kikuyu song that has been perceived abusive to the community.
The song titled 'Ikamba' has been uploaded on YouTube, few weeks after the Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu was accused of inciting residents to torch vehicles ferrying charcoal in her county.
Led by the Makueni senator Mutula Kilonzo Junior and Kenya Films Classification Board chairman Ezekiel Mutua, the leaders mocked the song including musicians behind it Isaiah and Wakahaka.
The duo called for immediate arrest and prosecution of the artists alongside the song's producer.
"@NCIC_Kenya The video on social media purporting to ridicule the Kamba community is offensive to say the least, pull it down before it offends more people and / or causes unnecessary tensions . The two bigots should face the Real music !," senator Kilonzo tweeted.
It is barely less than a month when Governor Ngilu was also questioned by NCIC over a statement she made in her Kamba language.
Angry youths barricaded several roads following the torching of a lorry said to be owned by businessman from Kiambu County.
Mutua also took to twitter condemning the video and the people behind it, "KFCB flagged the video titled Ikamba by Isaiah ft Waharaka and YouTube has removed it from online, we regulate content from creation, to distribution, broadcast, exhibition and possession. @InfoKfcb@NellyMuluka @CSRashidEchesa @President@ConsumersKenya @NCIC_Kenya" Mutua's tweet read.
Mutua called on the National Cohesion and Integration Commission to order arrest of the duo and the song producer over hateful content.
