Machakos governor Alfred Mutua has lauded the county's road engineers who are currently constructing the Kathiani - Kangundo Road, saying that local engineers are capable of handling any type of engineering work if given the opportunity.
Speaking on Thursday during the inspection, the governor further defended his administration for hiring the engineers, saying the move has helped Machakos achieve accountability.
"This road is among the many being constructed by engineers and experts that the county Government has employed. This ensures that there is accountability and standards are met," the governor said.
"This ensures that there is accountability and standards are met. It also helps the County Government to monitor and evaluate all projects it is undertaking while squeezing the coin," he added.
