Machakos governor Alfred Mutua has lauded the IEBC for holding what he has termed as the best polls ever. The incumbent who provisional results show that he will defend his seat also distanced himself from rigging allegations levelled against him by Wavinaya Ndeti.

"I did not give money to anyone. People are afraid of change yet the people of Machakos want change...we are going to show them the real change. The people of Machakos have shown they are smart. I wish to say this has been the best-run election ever,” Mutua told journalists and his supporters.

However, Wiper’s Wavinya Ndeti has disowned the provisional results. She accused Mutua of election malpractices.

"We do not know where they are getting the results from and this is causing a lot of anxiety. We are not accepting the results… People just do things the way they want to do them...Mutua is used to stealing...even last time he stole. I think there are some Kenyans who discuss how to keep on stealing all the time," Wavinya told journalists as reported by the Star.
