As part of his government's continuous efforts to increase road connectivity in Machakos County, governor Dr Alfred Mutua launched construction of Kivandini-Masinga road at Musingini market.
He also inspected Musingini water project which is supplying water to Musingini Primary School and a few homes.
"The project will soon be providing the precious commodity to hundreds of households once laying of pipes is completed,'' said Dr Mutua, Thursday.
He noted his government fully appreciates the role of quality infrastructure in improving the economy of any society.
"This road increases the number of ongoing road projects in the county currently being constructed by the two tiers of government. This is what Maendeleo Chap Chap stands for-squeezing the shilling so as to provide quality efficient services to our people.''
He later I addressed roadside rallies at Mto wa Mwaki and Kivandini markets.
The opening of the road comes after Dr Mutua opened the Kathiani-Kakuyuni-Kangundo intersection road constructed using monies, equipment and staff of the Machakos county government.
"This road is my Christmas gift to the people of this area and will be fully complete by Christmas Day,'' Mutua said on December 23, 2016.
He said the new road was a link road that opens up a rich economic zone and one that will propel growth to his people.
