Machakos County Governor, Dr Alfred Mutua, has launched borehole drilling project at Kinyui grounds in Matungulu Kangundo Sub-County.

Mutua has unveiled two borehole drilling machines and 18 tanks of storing water each with a capacity of 10,000 liters with a main objective of sweeping out water shortage in the county.

“We have acquired our own machines hence we are assured of convenience and efficiency in drilling our boreholes and we already have the experts to perform the exercise. Once this project are over water problem will be history,” said Mutua.

The governor further promised that his leadership has the interest of the public in mind and therefore apart from the water project, he would ensure the main roads and rural-roads get tarmacked.

“On the infrastructure in Matungulu my government has marked Katwanyaa-Kanzalu road, Tala Kinyui road and further Donyo Sabuk-Tala road.

The governor was accompanied by Members of Parliament from Machakos County they include:Vincent Musyoka (Mwala), Itwiku Mbai (Masinga), Dr. Rachel Nyamai (Kitui South), Regina Ndambuki (Kilome), Richard Makenga (Kaiti), John Munuve (Mwingi North).

Former MPs present; Moffat Maitha (Kangundo), Kalembe Ndile (Kibwezi) they were also accompanied with other 35 County Assembly Members  led by Majority leader Joshua Mwonga.

Mutua assured the residents that he would not hesitate to serve his people despite being fought by opposing leaders.

“These people want us to stagnate where we are without any developments but I will not allow it because God has given us the strength and I will continue serving my people ,” said Mutua
