Francis Maliti, hosted CeCs, Chief Officers and Directors for a meeting to set the pace for the county government.He thanked them for their continued support and commitment in serving the people of Machakos."Going the extra mile and daring to do things differently has been and will continue to be part of our workforce mantra in 2018," said Mutua who shared several ideas that would help achieve their overall mission of service to the people."Staff meetings where all team players have a chance to share and contribute ideas will be key this year." He also encouraged them to employ creativity in the way they work by being pioneers and pushing the envelope to achieve results. "Setting targets that will greatly help us to monitor progress will also be part of our work plan for 2018 and beyond. A focus on improvement in the quality of work by using research and innovation will also be key."Mutua urged them to look at world trends and increase the use of ICT in the government's operations through automation to help in improving service delivery.He further asked that the impact of all county projects must be felt in the villages and not only in towns. "Our role remains to offer public service and development to the Machakos mwananchi wherever they are," the governor said on Wednesday."Happy employees have optimum performance and I look forward to a government operating at their best with a happy and content workforce."
