Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua on Wednesday claimed that a section of MCAs were blackmailing him with threats of impeachment.
According to Mutua, the representatives were demanding for money in order to halt his impeachment.
However, Mutua has maintained that he will not issue out any money because the funds are meant to foster development in the county.
“I want to tell them that I will not give them a penny. This money belongs to the people of Machakos and is for development,” said Mutua.
He accused the leaders of being selfish and therefore should be kicked out during the next general election.
He added that it was shameful for elected leaders to blackmail a governor for their own selfish interests.
“These leaders should be rejected by the voters come the elections. They do not deserve to be in positions of leadership,” said Mutua.
Mutua was speaking at the Mulu Mutisya Gardens where he unveiled a statue of the late Ukambani politician.
