The County government of Machakos under governor Alfred Mutua has now extended an olive branch to striking doctors across all public hospitals in the county asking them to end the unrest and talk something out.
Two days after talks with the health experts on the most proficient method to end the strikes bore no fruits, the governor has thus resorted to sort things out differently.
Dr Mutua seemed to mollify his position after he offered to have 'organized discourse' with the medics, who have incapacitated healthcare administrations in healing facilities for a fortnight.
The striking specialists have tabled complains of the governor being scary and intimidating them while at work, and had likewise left the doctors helpless before county authorities who have no comprehension on how healthcare organizations work.
"Prior, the specialists had displayed three petitions to the governor itemizing issues of unfriendly workplace, political obstruction and gross work misbehaviors," says an announcement discharged by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Union (KMPDU) Secretary General Ouma Olunga.
"While it is not lost on KPMDU that badgering is continuous countrywide in about all the 47 counties, Machakos County encounters the most unfriendly workplace described by customized dangers to dedicated specialists," the announcement further says.
A meeting convened by the governor at his office with representatives of the doctors on Saturday failed to yield fruits after the medics staged a walk-out on Mutua, accusing him of being insincere with the negotiations and thus prompting the governor to come out on Monday saying that he indeed was ready for open candid talks with the medics.
