The political tension in Ukambani is set to calm after several leaders including Maendeleo Chap Chap party leader Alfred Mutua pledged to work together for the benefit of locals. The governor promised to unite all Akamba governors and other leaders in a move to develop the region economically and politically.
“I will reach out to Charity Ngilu of Kitui, Makueni's Kivutha Kibwana and all other leaders elected in these counties for the unity of this region. We have had a lot of unnecessary fights. I think it’s time we said 'enough of this," Mutua said as quoted by the Star.
The Machakos County boss said that he will welcome anyone with a great idea to transform the lives of Machakos dwellers. He said that he is ready to work with everyone including his political enemies.
“I cannot claim to have the monopoly on ideas so I welcome anyone with an idea of how we can move this county forward to come and discuss it with me," he stated.
