Machakos Governor Sunday, January 8, visited Our Lady of Consolata Catholic Cathedral, Archdiocese of Nyeri for a mass service presided over by Fr Benson Kiiboi.
Mutua later joined the congregation at AIPCA Ngangarithi for another church service.
The Governor appealed for peace and unity from all Kenyans ahead of August polls and urged the church not to relent in its promotion of peace, cohesion and integration.
"My fellow leaders, let us preach peace and tolerance to our people. Peace remains the recipe for sustainable development in the country. As Kenyans, it's paramount that we make a commitment to co-exist harmoniously among ourselves," he said.
"We should strive to jealously protect each other at all times in order to continue building a peaceful and progressive Kenya," he added.
