Machakos County Governor Dr Alfred Mutua has promised Masinga Sub County residents of more development.
Speaking on Friday, Mutua said that his government was working to ensure water security in his county is achieved.
He added that the central government has allocated Sh 1.2 billion for the water projects in the county and the Machakos County will supplement the amount for more water projects.
Mutua said that his government will tarmac the Masinga – Ekalakala road to improve movement between the two markets.
He added that every homestead will get pure piped water in a move to curb water shortage in the area.
Mutua urged the residents to preserve water and to adopt water harvesting techniques.
The governor promised that every market will receive a water tank from his government.
He added that the government of Machakos will establish more dams to boost water harvesting in the area.
Leaders from Masinga Sub County accused Deputy Governor Bernard Kiala of not promoting development in the county.
They also accused Kiala of pumping water from Masinga to his homestead using pipes meant for the Mwala water project.
