Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua has pledged to construct the tallest building in his county and entire nation during the next five years. 

The county boss, who retained his post, said that he is prepared to improve the lives of the people of his county through different projects including the construction of the tallest building in the area. 

“My dream of making Machakos town a city will definitely come true. We are going to construct the tallest building in the country in Machakos city," he said, as quoted by Star. 

Mutua defeated Former Kathiani MP Wavinya Ndeti following a tough contest. The county also expressed his gratitude towards the residents of Machakos for giving him an opportunity to lead them for the next five years. 

“I am very grateful to all those who stood with us during the tedious campaigns and all through to the elections. We will not forget you,” he said. He further said that he was impressed by the performance of Maendeleo Chap Chap during the last general elections. 

“I am happy my Maendeleo Chap Chap party has performed very well nationally despite the fact it still young."
