Machakos Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua has pledged to ensure more efficient as well as common mwananchi focused leadership in the next five years of his leadership.

The county boss said that he is committed to transform the lives of the residents by implementing all the plans included in his 2017-2022 manifesto.

The Maendeleo Chap Chap party leader defeated Former Kathiani, Wavinya Ndeti in one of the hotly contested seats at the county level.

Addressing the press after he was presented with a provisional certificate at the weekend, Mutua said that residents of the county should prepare for better leadership.

"I want to assure the people of Machakos that my administration will waste no time. Ours is to settle down and proceed with the key business of serving our people and providing an environment for new opportunities that will transform their livelihoods," he said, as quoted by Standard.

The governor, who has hinted at contesting for the nation’s top  seat in 2022, also said that he will develop the area in order to make it a bench mark of devolution across the nation as well as globally.

"We will set up the new Machakos city, whose progress had been frustrated," he said.
