The county boss, who is defending his post in August polls, said that the increased cases of vandalized projects in the region are being politically instigated.

“The hired goons have vandalized water projects in parts of Kangundo and we will not let them go scot free,” warned Mutua, as quoted by Capital FM.

The remarks of the county boss come a week after solar panels at the Kithumuoni water project in Kangundo were vandalized by persons whose identities are yet to be disclosed thereby leading to the disruption of water supply to a number of households in this part of the nation.

The lawmaker pointed an accusing finger at Former Kathiani MP Wavinya Ndeti and other leaders in the region for attempting to frustrate his efforts to make Machakos a better place following his election in 2013.

“I have information that she is on a mission to taint my image and the projects I have initiated. She will fail miserably,” said Mutua.

The governor, who fell out with Wiper Leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka, will be defending his seat on a Maendeleo Chap Chap ticket.
