Machakos Governor Dr Alfred Mutua has said that water shortage will be a thing of the past if he retains his seat in August.
The Maendeleo Chap Chap Movement leader vowed to take an action against Mavoko Water and Sewerage Company (MAWASCO) in a bid to resolve water shortage during his second term in office.
Addressing a rally at Junguini slums in Mavoko, the county boss said that water companies in the area have been mismanaged adding that he will not allow the same allow this to continue in his tenure.
He affirmed that his government will seize all the public resources in the county to ensure that the common mwananchi reaps from the same.
“I want to assure the residents of Mavoko sub-County and its environs that, once I am re-elected, my first assignment will be to disband MAWASCO and ensure that people are supplied with water for free. We will increase water in the area by digging boreholes as well as finishing construction of KIMC dam,” Mutua said, as quoted by Citizen.
He also said that his government will ensure that students pursue higher education by funding their education.
Mutua is contesting against former Kathaini MP Wavinya Ndeti and Deputy Governor Bernard Kiala.
