The county boss, who is defending his post on Maendeleo Chap Chap, called upon Kenyans not to be used by a section of politicians who want to rise to power through unconstitutional means.

The governor was speaking during rallies in Masinga sub-County. “We want peace during and after the elections,” said Mutua, as quoted by Star.

He drummed up support in different areas including Kangonde, Kikuumini, Kaewa, Kivuthi, Kivaa and Masinga towns ahead of the August General elections.

At one point in his campaign, Mutua launched a scathing attack on Former Kathiani MP Wavinya Ndeti, saying that she has no plans to change the lives of the residents.

Mutua argued that Ndeti is only interested in fighting his leadership and nothing more. The governor, who has also hinted at contesting for the nation’s top seat, asked the residents to reject Ndeti since she has no agenda.

“She has said my manifesto is ambitious yet she has not unveiled hers. Wavinya has no agenda for the people of Machakos,” he added. Ndeti defected from Chama Cha Uzalendo (CCU) to join Wiper after former vice president Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka requested her.
