Governor Alfred Mutua has rubbished claims by a section of politicians in Ukambani that he is being used by the Jubilee government to divide the Kamba community ahead of the 2017 polls.
Mutua on Tuesday said that the claims being spread by his opponents are baseless and malicious.
In a statement by his Director of Communication, Mutinda Mwanzia, Governor Mutua instead accused some politicians opposed to his leadership of being envious of his development track record.
Governor Mutua claimed that his opponents are working hard for his downfall.
“I will not listen to enemies of development who are tarnishing my name but instead I will continue to work for Machakos people and Kenyans,” said governor Mutua.
The Machakos governor who was reacting to senator Johnson Muthama’s recent claims that he is being used by the Jubilee government to divide Kamba’s said his agenda is to better the lives of the people.
Mutua also denied claims by senator Muthama that he is misusing public resources and using propaganda to deceive locals on development matters.
In an interview on Citizen TV on Sunday, senator Muthama described governor Mutua as a poor leader who has failed the locals.
Muthama further claimed that Mutua is using public Relations and propaganda to deceive Machakos locals.
