Machakos county boss Dr. Alfred Mutua has dismissed calls for dialogue ahead of National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Amolo Odinga’s planned swearing-in ceremony.

Speaking at the party headquarters in Lavington during National Executive Council on Saturday, the second time governor said that the talks that President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto should allow are those advocating for ways to improve the economy of this nation and not power sharing.

The governor argued that elections are over, adding that time has come for Kenyans leaders from both political divides to unite in building the economy of this nation.

“We are not advocating any dialogue. However, if there will be talks, then we should be included and it should only be about speeding up economic development projects that lead to better service delivery to the wananchi, but not about sharing government positions,” he said, as quoted by Mediamax Entertainment.

The sentiments of the county boss come at a time when leaders of the opposition have maintained that they will not recognize the leaders of President Kenyatta. The leaders have insisted that Uhuru is in power illegally.
