Governor Alfred Mutua has rubbished Cord leader Raila Odinga's betrayal claims and asked him to leave him to work for Machakos people who elected him to office.
Reacting to Odinga’s claims of him betraying the coalition, Mutua said that the interests of the people are more important than political parties and coalitions.
Mutua said his desire is to work for the Machakos people and not to please political leaders.
“I am not and I will not be interested or take part in abusive politics. My agenda has been and will be to serve Machakos people with respect, “he said.
The governor said that he will not be part of politics of division but would be on the frontline to champion change.
On Monday, Odinga accused Mutua of betraying the coalition when he snubbed the coalition’s rally at Mulu Mutisya Grounds.
The rally was meant to drum up support for the ‘Pesa Mashinani’ referendum.
Mutua who hosted President Uhuru Kenyatta in Machakos on Wednesday pledged to work with the government.
He said ‘Maendeleo Chap Chap’ will be realised fully in Machakos if he works and creates development links with the national government.
Mutua said the county has achieved much in the health sector courtesy of the support from the national government.
The governor stated that he will not stop working with Jubilee because to please cord leaders.
