Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua has said that he will sack all the corrupt officials in his government during his second term in office. The county boss, who spoke after he was sworn in, said that the corrupt officials have no place in his government, adding that he will send them packing.

“I will soon be making major realignments in my government and therefore I ask those corrupt officers who might be in the system to start packing because we are coming for you,” Mutua said, as quoted by Star.

The county boss also said that he fought wars with other leaders in his government to the point that he could not take leave. The governor also said that the leaders wanted him impeached from power, which affected his performance.

“In my last five years, I actually did not take leave because every time I tried to do so, my deputy governor and some MCAs were scheming on how to topple my government,” Mutua said.

The re-elected governor also said that he has nothing personal against Wavinya Ndeti.

“I have nothing against my worthy competitor Wavinya Ndeti. I know she was just a tool in the larger chase to sink Alfred Mutua,” he said.
