Kenya Film Classification Board CEO Dr Ezekiel Mutua has asked Kenyans to treat rape allegations at the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) with sobriety.
According to Mutua, the Health CS Cleopa Mailu and KNH management are handling the situation.
On a post on his Facebook page on Monday, Mutua reiterated that not all mortuary attendants are guilty of rape allegations nor are all government officials corrupt and it is only the due process that will provide information on the saga.
"I really think there is need for sobriety in the reporting of the Kenyatta National Hospital saga. Just spoken to CS Mailu and the management of KNH this morning and everything possible is being done to get to the bottom of the rape allegations."
"We should avoid mob justice and allow the due process. Not every mortuary attendant is a rapist and not every Govt official is corrupt. We shouldn't appear to give a blanket condemnation of this group of people who serve us in the most difficult times," posted Mutua.
The CEO further called on reporting that will capture all sides of the story thereby helping solve the problem.
He further divulged that the Health CS and the DCI are on the matter and Kenyans will get a report on the case on Tuesday.
"I am of the view that only accurate, fair and objective reporting that captures all sides of the story can help in dealing with this matter. The CS has been on the ground, the DCI is on the ground and KNH Board met yesterday to ensure that the public gets a comprehensive report by tomorrow," added Mutua.
