Machakos governor Alfred Mutua has yet suspended a senior officer in the Department of Water over incompetence and inability to deliver within set timelines.
In the governor's address to the press on Monday at his office, Mutual further directed County Secretary to undertake investigations in the powering of boreholes to unearth any cases of poor service delivery within the Department of Water.
"I have toured some of the water projects and after weeks of intelligence gathering, I am suspending with immediately effect, Engineer Julius Wambua Ndongoi of the Ministry of Water for incompetence and inability to meet deadlines for a period of one month," Mutua said.
"I have also instructed the County Secretary and Mr Hyslop Ipu to undertake investigations in the powering of boreholes to unearth any malpractices and possible corrupt alternatives that may be there," he added.
This move comes barely a month after the governor interdicted two Chief Officers and suspended 36 officers in the same Ministry of Water.
