The Machakos county governor Alfred Mutua has condemned his Mombasa counterpart Ali Hassan Joho noting that it was wrong for Joho to attack the president in public.
Speaking at Our Lady of Consolata Cathedral in Nyeri during his tour to popularise Maendeleo Chap Chap, Mutua condemned politics of insults adopted by some politicians and directed at president Uhuru Kenyatta, noting that the head of state must be accorded the respect that befits him.
"Leaders who cannot give other leaders respect are leaders who are being used by the devil to burn this nation and they must not be allowed to do so," Mutua said.
The Machakos county boss further called on all political leaders to desist from the politics of insults and making inciteful remarks especially during this year when the country is headed for elections.
