As we head to the polls, politicians are not only making promises but also threatening to reveal what has been going on in the country without the knowledge of Kenyans.

This comes after Maendeleo Chap Chap party leader Alfred Mutua said that he will soon name politicians involved in the drug trafficking business.

Mutua, also Machakos Governor, said that he is aware of leaders behind the illegal business, adding that he is going to list their names to allow for their arrest and prosecution.

Speaking during his campaign rallies in Kithyoko and Kivaa towns in Masinga constituency, the county boss said that drugs are ruining the lives of Kenyan youths, adding that he is committed to working with relevant authorities to ensure their sale is stopped.

“These drugs are destroying our young people and now the proceeds are being used to lure voters,” he said, as quoted by Mediamax Network.

The governor, who is defending his seat in the August polls, also called upon the electorate to back rallies based on agenda and not propaganda as the election date inches closer.

He further said that his political outfit is not affiliated to Jubilee or National Super Alliance (NASA).

“We are an independent party and even the two parties have fielded candidates for the governor’s seat,” he said. Mutua is banking on his performance scoreboard to retain his seat when that time comes.
