[Photo|@citizentvkenya]Wavinya Ndeti, has filed a petition at the Machakos High Court, challenging the re-election of Machakos Governor Dr Alfred Mutua Ng'ang'a, following the August 8 election.Accompanied by her running mate Peter Mathuki and other supporters, Ndeti who lost to Mutua carried various documents to the court, Tuesday, saying the election was faced by massive irregularities."We have moved to court to lay to the world what we believe are compelling reasons to justify how the people of Machakos were robbed of their basic right," she said.Citing the successful presidential petition by the National Super Alliance (Nasa), against re-election of President Uhuru Kenyatta, the former Kathiani MP said the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), manipulated votes in favour of her opponent."It's evident from the recent petition filed by NASA and won against the IEBC that it selectively manipulated, engineered and deliberately distorted votes and counted them in favour of our opponents in order to affect the final results hence unable to know the winner. We believe that justice will eventually be served and the truth set clear," she added.Mutua was declared winner with 238,405 votes against Wavinya’s 199,257.
