Machakos Governor Dr Alfred Mutua has reiterated his eyes are still focused on the presidency in 2022 and will do all that takes to contest for the country's top seat.

Mutua said his development record speaks for itself and it is time Kenyans gave him the opportunity to spill development from Machakos to the entire country.

He spoke after he attended a meeting between the Party's leadership (NEC) and the elected leaders of Maendeleo Chap Chap Party at the party's headquarters in Lavington Nairobi on Saturday.

Key on the agenda during the meeting was a stocktake of the last general elections, a review of the legal regime for political elections funding, formulating a work plan for party activities for 2017-2022 and his 2022 Presidential bid.

"We are soon embarking on a nationwide campaign to popularise our party and share our ideas that focus on servant leadership and fast and cost-effective development for our people," Mutua said.

"As a party, we call for peace, unity and development for Kenya and ask all leaders to embrace the clarion call for service above self."

Mutua is expected to compete for the presidency in 2022 with Deputy President William Ruto, Governors Hassan Joho (Mombasa) and former Meru Governor Peter Munya among other candidates who have expressed interest for the to seat. NASA is yet to declare who to support during the polls.

Maendeleo Chap Chap which Mutua leads supported President Uhuru Kenyatta's re-election on August 8 and October 26.
