Machakos Governor Dr Alfred Mutua will meet aspirants eyeing different electives posts through Maendeleo Chap Chap Movement on Tuesday at Kasarani.

Speaking during his tour in Busia County over the weekend, Mutua said that leaders of the party will discuss different issues including strategies to develop strong and transparent structures ahead of the general polls.

“These structures will guide the party before, during the election period and in future,” said Mutua, as quoted by Capital FM.

The party leader also said that his political outfit has the interest of the people at heart. “That’s why I am committed to lead a party that puts the interests of the people first,” he added.

Mutua reminded leaders who want to defect from other parties to MCC that his party will not accommodate corrupt and non-performing leaders.

MCC has continued to gain popularity across the nation following recent defection. The governor formed the movement after falling out with Wiper leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka, citing frustration.

The party will field candidates in all elective posts except President where Mutua has affirmed to back President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto.
