Dr Alfed Mutua, the Governor of Machakos county has said that Ukambani people will not engage in the destructive demonstrations which Cord has been leading across the country every Monday of about the last two months.

Mutua accompanied president Uhuru Kenyatta commenced his 3-day Ukambani tour on Friday morning, said that Ukambani people will not engage in the destructive demonstrations which Cord has been leading across the country every Monday of about the last two months. 

"The Kamba community will not throw stones to destroy lives as property, the people of Ukambani will not burn up tires to block road, those tires we use them here in Ukambani as raw materials for very strong shoes locally known as " akala", and this who make them about of those worn out tires have been making money," said Governor Mutua in criticism to what has been happening in Cord led IEBC demos. 

Mutua spoke this in Tala town and was supported by The Deputy president, William Ruto as well as President Uhuru who both in their speeches criticised the IEBC demos. 

The president launched construction of Tala- Ndunyu road, which has been a major problem to transportation to people traveling to and from Tala.
