Machakos Senator Dr Alfred Mutua has exuded confidence that he will beat Former Kathiani MP Wavinya Ndeti and Deputy Governor Bernard Kiala in the forthcoming general elections.
Mutua, who spoke after he was cleared to defend his seat in August, said that he will beat both the candidates to emerge the winner like he did during the last general elections.
The county boss, who has been facing legal issues because of administration roles, insisted that he will retain his post.
“We are not worried by anything. We will ensure that we deal with Wavinya the same way we did in 2013,” he told the press.
Mutua formed Maendeleo Chap Chap after falling out with Wiper Party Leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka. The governor has been accusing Kalonzo now NASA Deputy President for frustrating him since he took over power following the last general elections.
According to Mutua, Kalonzo started waging war against him from the first day he was elected the county boss.
The governor has also expressed interest in the nation’s top, which has been received with mixed reactions from different factions. In this year’s election, he is backing the re-election of President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto.
