The outspoken professor said Wabukala will fail in his job at the integrity centre since his new roles will be different from 'Church'.

In a series of Twitter posts, the controversial scholar said Wabukala's tenure as EACC boss, if appointed, will not end well no matter how admirable his character is.

"The EACC isn't a church or mosque…a pulpit. That's why Archbishop Wabukala, no matter how admirable, shouldn't be Chair. Won't end well," he said.

Mutua's disapproval comes days after President Uhuru Kenyatta sent Wabukala’s name to the National Assembly for vetting.

Speaking to the press recently, the former Anglican Church head said he is ready to handle his duties if Parliament approves his nomination.

"The process has begun. My selection is a challenge I am ready to accept and will work as diligently as possible. The expectation is high but I will handle it," said Wabukala.
