The rift between Machakos Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua and Former Kathaini MP Wavinya Ndeti has widened.

This is after Mutua accused Ndeti of drug trafficking ahead of next week's vote.

Addressing a rally in Machakos, Mutua claimed that Ndeti and three other women were being pursued by Interpol and the US Drug Enforcement Agency.

The governor claimed that Ndeti had been arrested in 2002 over drug trafficking.

Ndeti has, however, dismissed the claims terming them pure propaganda.

The outspoken aspirant said that Mutua had sensed defeat, adding that he has resolved to underhand tactics to retain his post.

“I know his plans. His first strategy was to defeat me in court. Plan B was to say I had planned to cause violence in Machakos County so that I be barred from contesting by the IEBC. Now he has started propaganda,” she said, as quoted by The Star.

Ndeti crossed over from Chama Cha Uzalendo (CCU) to join Wiper Party, led by Kalonzo Musyoka.
