Machakos governor Dr Alfred Mutua has said that Wiper Party leaders started fighting him politically right from the day he was given the mandate to become boss of this county.
Speaking during a rally where he commissioned a borehole in Kariobangi Estate, Mutua said that he has never known peace since he was elected into the position because Wiper leaders have been hatching plot after another to oust him.
The outspoken governor, however, affirmed that he will not allow anyone to intimidate him politically.
“They started fighting me the moment I was elected and they have not relented. I will not be intimidated by their schemes,” said Mutua.
During the same rally, he gave former Vice President Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka, who is also his former party boss, an ultimatum for linking him to the kidnapping of Machakos Governor Bernard Kiala’s daughter a week ago.
“Church elders have told me to forgive my detractors and that’s why I am offering Kalonzo this opportunity to apologise. To err is human,“ said Mutua.
The governor’s sentiments come a few days after a motion to impeach him flopped because of lack of numbers.
The Members of the county assembly have been accusing him of poor leadership, corruption and abuse of office.
