The vocal legislator who was speaking during Citizen TV's Power Breakfast show urged Mutua to avail information that would free him from the allegations facing him and not bring in counter accusations to divert attention.

"I warned Mutua earlier in the meeting (Senate PAC) that he had come to answer to audit queries and should have carried evidence that would free him from the allegations against him on financial malpractice," he said.

"What he is saying here is a sideshow because the National Land Commission and the EACC are there to attend to such allegations. We did not invite Mutua to come and whistleblow," he added.

Khalwale sentiments were shared by Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar who also said Mutua should not run away from the allegations facing him, and also firmly assured that he does not defend anybody named in a corruption scandal.

"The guy (Mutua) has really diverted the attention of the allegations he is facing on audit queries and is now acting like a whistleblower. I am not saying he should not whistle blow but should do that at another forum, on this one, he should answer the queries," he said.
