The Court of Appeal on Thursday ceased the arraignment of Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua over cases of mishandling of office and illicit purchasing of vehicles that were allegedly under the same plates.
Judges GBM Kariuki, Festus Azangalala and Ole Kantai allowed the request hindering the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) and the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission from arresting the Maendeleo Chap Chap Movement party leader.
They stated that orders issued by Justice Isaac Lenaola, who on September 23 permitted the DPP to start a criminal argument against Dr Mutua over the buying of 16 vehicles for county authorities.
Governor Mutua's lawyer Wilfred Nyamu, had told the re-appraising judges that the DPP and the counter defilement office will arrest Mutua owing to the High Court arrange.
Mutua is charged to have mocked acquirement laws when he obtained Subaru Outback vehicles for region official board of trustees individuals.
