Makueni MP Daniel Maanzo has accused Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua and some leaders of allegedly being used by Jubilee government to create divisions among Kamba locals ahead of the 2017 polls.
The MP claims that governor Mutua is among some Kamba politicians who are being used to create divisions in the region.
Speaking on Citizen TV on Thursday, Maanzo alleged that Mutua’s Maendeleo Chap Chap Movement party agenda is to fuel divisions in Ukambani for his selfish interests.
Maanzo claimed that Mutua’a party is being funded by some politicians in allied to President Uhuru Kenyatta's Jubilee government.
“Governor Mutua should not lie to us about Maendeleo Chap Chap, we know the motive behind the Movement,” he said during the interview.
The Makueni MP claimed that rebels who recently ditched Wiper and joined Jubilee betrayed the Kamba community. He said locals are angry with the rebels and are ready to vote them out come next year.
The MP at the same time claimed that Mutua will be a one term governor. He alleged that Mutua is relying on propaganda and publicity to deceive locals on development.
He accused Mutua of creating imaginary development projects and using propaganda to gain influence.
In a quick rejoinder to the MP’s claims, Mutua said that he will not listen to politician’s perpetuating selfish agenda.
The Governor claimed that some leaders in Ukambani have been in government for many years but have done nothing to alleviate the region from poverty.
Mutua said his Maendeleo Chap Chap Movement is keen to propagate development across the country.
He said that the party has organized a series of popularization tours across the country in readiness for 2017.
