Machakos governor Dr Alfred Mutua has said that his political outfit-Maendeleo Chap Chap Party- will not tolerate leaders soliciting for bribes ahead of the August General polls. The governor, who spoke on Wednesday, has s affirmed that his party has no room for candidates with integrity related issues as we head into the next General election. The Ukambani leader says that he has seen many politicians demanding for a bribe in order to push for agenda that will favor the lives of the common mwananchi."I was in government for 10 years and saw MPs demand bribes from ministers to shoot down certain motions or support others," he noted. The legislator also said that his party is putting in place measures to ensure that only qualified leaders are elected into office."My party intends to reform the country’s political leadership by weeding out such practices," he added. Mutua formed Maendeleo Chap Chap after walking away from Wiper Party leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka while citing frustration. The governor accused Kalonzo of starting to fight him right from day one took over power his party has attracted many prominent politicians from all over the country including Embu Senator Lenny Kivuti( Governor aspirant)and Igembe Central parliamentary aspirant Gitobu Imanyara.
