Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua’s political adviser and head of research unit at the county, Mr Tedd Munovi has resigned citing frustrations in his work.

Mr Munovi tendered his resignation on Thursday.

In the resignation letter to governor Mutua, he claims that it has become difficult for him to work for governor Mutua and his government.

He claimed that his advice to the governor and county officials on key issues has been ignored several times making his work more difficult.

Confirming the resignation, Machakos county communication Director Mutinda Mwanzia said that the reasons provided by Mr Munovi over his resignation have no truths.

He said that governor Mutua and senior county officials have the privilege of running the government in the way they see it right.

“It is not a must that every advice given to the county has to be implemented,” he said on phone on Friday.

Mr Munovi, a political science graduate worked for former President Mwai Kibaki campaign team in and has also worked for Makueni governor Kivutha Kibwana.

Sources close to the county governor's office claim that Mr Munovi had been given notice to resign over claims that he was working with Mutua’s opponents.
